75 hitsIn its first collaboration with an Egyptian NGO, MIT worked withFab Lab Egypt to install two fabrication labs in two STEM schools (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in Egypt. A fab lab is a maker space, with computer controlled fabrication machines, with which you can make almost anything, from Robots to furniture, Electronics, phones and any prototype. In addition to that, it took the responsibility of training the teachers and students on the machines and tools, and the machine maintenance. Both schools are supported by USAID and the Egyptian ministry of education. Special thanks to the Fab foundation and the center of Bits and Atoms.
